RHS UNVEILS THE WINNERS OF THE 2024 RHS BOTANICAL ART & PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW AT SAATCHI GALLERY

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed the medal and award winners of the outstanding 2024 RHS Botanical Art and Photography Show in partnership with Saatchi Gallery (London).

The 2024 show exhibits exquisite botanical art and photography from around the world and explores a rich variety of subjects and themes. The world-class artists and photographers have been awarded RHS Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver, and Bronze medals. A series of special awards; Best Botanical Artwork, Best Botanical Art Exhibit, Best Portfolio Photography Exhibit, and Judges Special Award, have also been presented.

All entries have been reviewed by an expert judging panel during the pre-selection process, prior to the show opening, and assessed on aesthetic appeal, scientific accuracy and technical skill.

The show is open from 14 June to the extended date of 28 July and tickets are available to book now. For the first time, the public had the opportunity to vote in The People’s Choice award for their favourite entry – with Botanical Art Exhibit going to Daleen Roodt for South African Orchids: Natural Scenes of Specialised Pollination Interactions; and Photography Exhibit awarded to Barry Webb for Revealing the Unseen World of Slime Moulds.

ABOUT THE RHS
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) was founded in 1804 and is the UK’s largest gardening charity.

The RHS vision is to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place via its inspirational gardens and shows, science research and advisory, extensive library collections and far-reaching education and community programmes. With over 600,000 members the RHS also shares its horticultural knowledge and expertise with millions of people every year through its website and publications.

In 2021, the RHS launched its Sustainability Strategy, committing to be net positive for nature and people by 2030. The supporting RHS Planet-Friendly Gardening Campaign will continue to harness the power of the UK’s 30 million gardeners to help tackle the climate and biodiversity crisis.

We are solely funded by our members, visitors and supporters.

Since moving to its current 70,000 square feet space in the Duke of York’s Headquarters in Chelsea, London, the Gallery has welcomed over 10 million visitors. The Gallery hosts over 5,000 schools visits annually and has over 6 million followers on social media. In 2019 Saatchi Gallery became a charity, beginning a new chapter in its history.
