Tim Stoner is a young artist living and working in London.
Bathed in an aura of over-exposed light, Stoner’s back-lit images are contained within a glowing halo. Reduced to silhouettes, these figures are stripped of all distinguishing marks of class or creed – their facelessness becomes the subject of an idealised projection. His paintings evoke a timeless nostalgia which cites primitive iconography, European painting traditions and the familiar imagery of our consumerist culture.
