Breaking glory is a scene in which a copy of Michelangelo’s Last Judgment can be viewed, opened or gnawed by a group of miners who create a big hole imitating a “cielo abierto” (an open sky), as this particular way of mining is commonly named.
In the scene, the open sky is not only given by the mining, but also for the metaphorical breaking sky. Loss of the sacred and indigent consideration of the contemporary man, who is the victim of the current colonial and economic systems.
